Born in 1956 in Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Graduated from Tokai University’s
department of prime mover engineering in
1978. In 1985 he participated in the group
exhibition “Project Olympia” at the Wacoal
Ginza Art Space in Tokyo. In 1990 his work
featured in an exhibition for SCAN ’90,
the 14th open-submission competition for
new works of video art (Heineken Village
Gallery, Tokyo). The same year he took
part in the “Imaginarium I” exhibition at
Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, and had
a winning entry at the World Wide Video
Festival in The Hague, the Netherlands. He
creates automatons/mechanical figures in
a long-term collaboration with doll maker
YOTSUYA Simon.
