Born 1960 in Nagano. Freelance curator. Participated as a curator at Canon Artlab from 1990. From 2003 to 2017, he served as chief curator and artistic director at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media, where he was in charge of overall direction and supervision of all sponsored projects. His major projects include “LIFE―fluid, invisible, inaudible…” with Sakamoto Ryuichi and Takatani Shiro (2007), Otomo Yoshihide’s “ENSEMBLES” (2008), Mikami Seiko’s “Desire of Codes ” (2010), Moon Kyungwon’s “Promise Park” (2013-2016), and “Vanishing Mesh” (2017). He curated “Other Space / Knowledge” at Asia Culture Center [ACC] in Gwangju, Korea in March 2018. He was an international jury for the transmediale award 06 in 2006 and a jury of the Media Arts Division for the Art Encouragement Price 2014-2016.
