NAKAJIMA Nanako is a dance scholar,
dance dramaturge, and a performer in
the Soke-Fujima school of Nihon Buyo.
Her dramaturgical activities center on
experimental dance projects in Japan and
overseas, with Sebastian Matthias’ x/groove
space (2016) being one recent example. In
addition to pursuing her research on aging
and dance, NAKAJIMA has also done
curation work (“Dance Archive Boxes@
TPAM2016”) and organized several symposia.
NAKAJIMA’s extensive list of publications
includes The Aging Body in Dance: A Crosscultural
Perspective (Routledge, 2017), which
features a contribution by renowned dancer
and choreographer Yvonne RAINER.
