Born in 1979. Graduated from the Faculty
of Economics at the University of Tokyo and
stayed on to complete a doctoral program at
the Graduate School of Economics without
receiving a degree. He is currently an assistant
professor in the Faculty of Economics and
Management at Surugadai University, as
well as serving as a visiting research fellow at
the International University of Japan Center
for Global Communications (GLOCOM).
His fields of specialism are management
information and intellectual property theory.
He has been a GNU and Debian developer
since his student days, and is an avid
supporter of open source / free software. In
recent years, he has also been a vocal advocate
for hacktivism and the freedom of the Internet
in general.
