Born in Kyoto in 1971. Completed master’s degree at Kyoto City University of Arts in 1996. Currently based in Berlin. Explores themes of space and time or dimension in her installation work. Kimura is expanding the range of her activity within Japan as well as abroad, with participation including the California-Pacific Triennial (Orange County Museum of Art, USA, 2017), Ocean of Images: New Photography 2015 (The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2015) and the 30th Bienal de São Paulo (Brazil, 2012).
