Writer, designer and independent filmmaker from Kerala, India. Graduated in Communication Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Provided animations for the visionary filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery’s feature films Jallikattu (2019) and Churuli (2021). His graduation work Story of a beginning (2020), discussing differences in faith and the importance of accepting them, was shown at more than 40 international film festivals.
His stories are inspired by observations within daily life and personal experiences, and informed by a desire to become a better human, while at once doing the same to the viewer. Told using different visual media, they push the boundaries of existing visual communication. Balaram J is currently working on several scripts for short films, music videos and feature films.”
