Born on a small island in Japan. During her college years in Kyoto, she participated in an exchange program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Received her Master’s degree from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media, after which she remained at the School to work as a research assistant for three years.
