After working at the Japan Foundation, UNESCO, Shizuoka University of Art and Culture, International Research Center for Japanese Studies, and elsewhere, she assumed her current position in 2018. Publications include the edited volume Expo-logy: Expos as a method of grasping the world (Shibunkaku Shuppan, 2020), the monograph Diplomatic ceremonial in the last decade of the Tokugawa regime: Western diplomats’ castle audiences with the shogun (Shibunkaku Shuppan, 2016), as well as a chapter in Pour une histoire des politiques culturelles dans le monde (Poirrier, P., dir., La Documentation française, 2011).
