KAWAI Mahito is the Chief of Zuirinin Temple of Jyodo-shu in Kyoto. He has studied Shomyou (chanting of Buddhist Sutras) at Hyakumanben Chionji Shikishukai since 1999. He has performed Shomyou chanting and rituals internationally since 2004 as a member of Shichiseikai including tours in Europe. Recently he has founded Gochikai and performed for the 100th Anniversary of the temple in Hawaii. He is also actively teaching.
