Ouroboros, a snake eating its own tail, is a symbol of simultaneous death and rebirth. In this experimental fictional film, which starts in Gaza (Palestine), a man experiences, forgets, and re-experiences romantic heartbreak as he travels through the disparate locations of Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert (United States), Matera and Martina Franca (Italy), and Brittany (France). Over their long history, the places where the story is set have undergone destruction and aggression, or escaped them and preserved their historical scenery. Gaza’s situation, which can only be overcome by forgetting, overlaps with the man’s recurring pain; at the same time, it is portrayed in contrast with the landscapes of other regions.
