Seen from a fixed perspective are people endlessly repeating the same activities in a single common room. As they enter and exit again and again,
their numbers gradually increase. The 36 characters who eventually fill the room (the screen) completely, seem to represent different stages of life. Tango was made through optical printer synthesis with 35mm film in 1981, before digital technology. It’s said that it took seven months, 16 hours a day, to complete. It won the Best Animated Short Film Award at the 55th Academy Awards.
