The 3D installation Ghostcatching (1999), created with motion capture
technology by OpenEndedGroup together with the legendary African-American choreographer/dancer Bill T. JONES, was re-visualized ten years
later in this work. In its double concept, Jones’ disembodied movement and
voice were traced with motion capture, and the actual software from a decade
earlier was updated. Here a dancer without race or gender exists in the visual
space while remaining physically absent, like a ghost.
