Introducing examples of the digital archiving of marginal video, involving attempts to unearth, digitize, utilize, and reappraise forgotten
video footage, this symposium considers the potential for video archiving and its future prospects. Digitization practitioners from Tokyo,
Okinawa, and Azumino will report on examples of the digitization of early animation on 9.5mm film and 8mm home movies, among
others. This will be followed by a discussion aimed at the regeneration of context through video archiving.
