In order to close in on people who live on the dark side of society, Antoine d’Agata makes them subjects of his works while sometimes building personal relationships to them. Without limiting himself to the act of shooting, he becomes an inhabitant of his subjects’ world, and takes photographs while stitching together aspects of desire, pain, hope and despair. Introduced at this exhibition is his latest work Virus. During the Coronavirus outbreak, d’Agata photographed the deserted streets of Paris and the insides of several hospitals with a thermal camera. Virus is a documentation of human vulnerability during the pandemic.
