Krasue
One thing that ghosts and movies have in common is the aspect of darkness. While a ghost is usually something that scares us because it has no visible face and body, the ghost in HIRANO Ryo’s film Krasue is like a flash of bright light appearing out of the dark. The natural breath of darkness is literally audible from Yakuza that look as if they had just stepped out of a Japanese crime movie, a Thai ghost that is attracted by the smell of blood, and various other invisible characters. The sound effects, created by foley artist Pete Burgis (007, Harry Potter, Mission: Impossible, etc.), add a realistic tone to the gloomy fictional story.
