Laure ALBIN-GUILLOT
Born 1879 in Paris, died 1962. Launched her successful career in commercial photography – mainly portraiture and fashion – in the 1920s. From 1924 up to the 1950s, she exhibited at the Salon international de photographie and the Salon des artistes décorateurs. In 1933, she was appointed director of the Cinémathèque National (the predecessor to the Cinémathèque Française). During the Occupation, she collaborated with Paul Valéry and others on the production of an excellent art book combining literature and photography.
