SUGIURA Kunié
Born 1942 in Aichi, Japan. Moved to the USA by herself in 1963, and settled down in New York upon graduating from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1967. She has developed a method of fusing photography and painting by incorporating acrylic paint and canvas into her work. According to the fundamental point of view that photography is a medium that works with light, she established her own unique style across motifs of plants, animals, and people, based on the traditional photogram technique.
