SAKIMURA Sorao
Born in 2001. Filmmaker and animator. Started creating video works after a short animation by himself while in high school. He is self-taught in hand-drawn animation, 3DCG, and live-action photography, and through a unique workflow that intricately combines these techniques, he expresses the sensations and afterimages in his own head as unique images. The short animation Sound of Cicada, Touch the Wind (2019) won the Grand Prix at the Wired Creative Hack Award 2020, Youth Gold at the 22nd DigiCon6 Japan, and was nominated for the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2020 U-25 Project. Currently enrolled in the Media Design Course at Kyushu University’s School of Design, he is furthering his activities as an artist.
