AOKI Marico
Born in Saitama. Aoki started creating video works while studying for a master’s degree at Tokyo Zokei University. Aoki focuses on the ideas, beliefs and ceremonies of various peoples and creates the worlds held by others in videos, drawings, photographs, and installations. Aoki explores how multiple worlds can be visualized simultaneously. Selected solo exhibitions “Letter of the Heart” (Hitachi city Folk Museum, Ibaraki, 2021), “Tomorrows on paper ” (Art Center Ongoing, Tokyo, 2020). In 2019, Aoki won the Grand Prix of the 1st Sapporo Ekimae Street Award in the art category. Aoki has participated in numerous film festivals and group exhibitions.
