Samson Sylvain (guest speaker)
Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of France in Tokyo and Head Manager of the Arts Department of Institut français du Japon. He studied philosophy at Université Paris Nanterre, Japanese language at Université de Paris VII, and publishing at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, and received a master’s degree in Japanese studies from Kobe University in 2005. Lives and works in Tokyo since 2007. After working at the Embassy of France in Japan and the Campus France, he became the head of the Cultural Affairs Department at Institut français du Japon in 2011, and has organized art festivals such as “Digital Choc” (2012-) and “Nuit De La Philo” (2013-), and cultural events such as “Le Labo,” a series of French-Japanese dialogue. He has been in his current position since 2018. He is committed to promoting the cultural exchange between Japan and France in the fields of visual and performing arts.
