Born 1947 in Kanagawa. Graduated from the Tokyo College of Photography Junior College Department in 1967. Established Camera Works together with Kaneko Ryuichi, Shimao Shinzo and Taniguchi Miyabi, in 1979. Exhibitions include “Vector” (Photo Gallery Prism, Tokyo, 1977), “Shashinzo” (Zeit-Foto Salon, Tokyo, 1984), “Hitoshi Tsukiji Now ‘Naze – Ima – Kokoni’ 1974-1998” (Shadai Gallery, Tokyo, 1998), and “Mother Police City” (Taka Ishii Gallery Photography / Film, Tokyo, 2019). His photo book Shashinzo (Camera Works, 1984) won the Newcomer’s Award of the Photographic Society of Japan in 1985.
