An increasing number of images are produced autonomously by machines for machines with a gradual exclusion of any human intervention. Automated Photography is a research project developed by the Master Photography at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne that addresses this situation by examining the technologies of image production and distribution such as: machine learning, CGI, photogrammetry. An immersive audiovisual exhibition presents critical views and a selection of projects that explore the aesthetic and conceptual potential of automated photography.
This exhibition is a program of Vitality.Swiss, Switzerland’s campaign on the road to Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai that explores solutions and scenarios for a vitalized future at the intersection of three dimensions: healthy life, sustainable planet and human-centered innovation.
