A liquid-crystal display is pierced by a metal pipe as used in pipe scaffolding. While the glitches on the display seem to be visualizing its final gasp before death, on the back side, the pipe continues to penetrate also the thick wall, before finally reaching the floor. Pierced by the pipe and thus deprived of its original function, the display expands within the museum’s exhibition space like a chimera that poses fundamental questions about visual forms of expression and its underlying technologies.
