The works exhibited here document one event – Tan herself being lifted up into the air by several dozen helium-filled balloons – by different means and from different perspectives, including a projection of a 16 mm black-and-white film of the “flight,” a small monitor showing footage of the artist’s feet shortly before lift-off, and silkscreen prints that capture these moments in still images. With this project, Tan fulfilled her childhood dream of floating in the air, however these are not documents of a dream, but they appear to visualize the artist’s vivid and subtle memories.
