SEKIGAWA Kohei
Born 1990 in Miyagi Prefecture. Sekigawa Kohei’s practice incorporates a wide range of techniques, such as physical actions using his own body, installation, drawing, and design as a means to examine how meaning is generated in his work through “making” and “seeing.” Major exhibitions include “Incoming Breezes” (Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, 2023), “Azamino Contemporary vol.11 Sekigawa Kohei: Let’s Call It a Day” (Yokohama Civic Art Gallery Azamino, 2020), “They Do Not Understand Each Other” (Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong, 2020), and “40th Anniversary Exhibition—Travelers: Stepping Into the Unknown” (The National Museum of Art, Osaka, 2018).
