Professor, Department of Sculpture, Tama Art University. Takamine Tadasu studied Urushi lacquering at Kyoto City University of Arts and media art at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS). He met Yuan Goang-Ming at the 2012 Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT7), in which they were both exhibiting artists. In 2015, Takamine was invited by Yuan to be a visiting professor at the Department of New Media Art, Taipei National University of the Arts for one year. From 2013 to 2020, he was a professor at Akita University of Art. He has been in his current position since 2020.
