Taipei-based artist. A pioneer of the video art genre, Yuan Goang-Ming has worked with video since the 1980s. He received an M.A. in media art from the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design in Germany in 1997. He has been teaching at the Taipei National University of the Arts since 2001, and has participated in numerous international exhibitions around the world. Known for his video works shot with equipment of his own making, in recent years Goang-Ming has created works about the elements of war latent in everyday life and daily life in a state of war.
