From a boy who dresses up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and is questioned by his father to a boy whose sibling demands that he look “masculine,” Moffat’s “Scarred for Life” series depicts the everyday trauma of psychological disconnection caused by unintended discrimination and unconscious bias within the family and home, in a journalistic storytelling style mimicking the format of Life magazine. A newly written text by Futoshi Miyagi, which also touches on this work, will be presented during the exhibition.
