Makino Takashi was born in Tokyo in 1978 and currently lives in Kanagawa, where he works as a filmmaker. Makino explores films that merge with images from within the human body such as imagination and memories, producing distinctive abstract films that are extremely stratified and deepened. Makino has won numerous awards at international film festivals overseas, and took the Tiger Award (the equivalent of the Grand Prix) in the short film category at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2012. His films have been screened in over 130 cities worldwide. In recent years, he has produced and presented cross-genre works including film, performance, installations and paper collages.
