About the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2025
The Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions is a unique annual event founded in 2009 which combines exhibitions, screenings, live performances, and talk sessions. Over the years, the festival has aspired to be a forum for exploring the question of how to nurture and sustain the development of visual expression and media with a wide range of stakeholders, while revitalizing creative activities in the visual arts.
This Year’s Theme
Docs: Images and Records
Aiming to re-examine the increasingly diversified manners of creating and appreciating images, the festival’s 2025 edition – the 17th in total – will see the launch of several new programs connected to this year’s theme. These programs will further reinforce the role of the festival as an ongoing platform that deeply questions the current state of moving images.
*Currently we have just announced some of the programs. More will be announced in the beginning of January, 2025.
