Against bright colored background, media artist Tony Cokes (USA) has combined text and music on the themes of American politics and pop culture, re-contextualizing culture and history in his unique visual expressions. In addition to his exhibit and screenings at Tokyo Photographic Art Museum in the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2025, his works are unfolded at different places in Yebisu Garden Place including the Ebisu Skywalk (moving path) that connects JR Yebisu Station and Yebisu Garden Place, making a large-scale installation possible. This is the first large-scale exhibition in Japan for Tony Cokes who won the Genius Grant from the MacArthur Fellows Program in 2024 and is gaining increasing attention. Moreover, an off-site display using enlarged photographs is implemented to introduce the Tokyo Metropolitan Collection.
