I create frameworks for bringing into view records of light and color, changes in hues caused by reflecting light, and occurrences in transparent substances like air and water. My supporting structures bring out the materiality of these phenomena. Records appear within them by taking on different gradations of light. Seeing is an encounter of sorts, and that encounter is repeated through recording and playback. It is a reflection of events, and a medium.
Two of the films were shot underwater with a focal length between 5 mm and 1 cm. The third film was recorded from noon to evening on a late summer day.
